There’s a Pathway From my door Runs on down to the river Down to the shore You can hear The water flow As you stand in the doorway Of my home This time of year The water is high Sometimes in the morning The grass ain’t dry Tide is rising More every day Soon We will have to move away When the rain comes falling down Like the sky is emptying every cloud We will have to be on our way As the fields become one with the sea When the rain comes falling down Like the sky is emptying every cloud We will have to be on our way As the fields become one with the sea I Looked out this morning The path had gone Just bright shiny water Lapping in the sun Took my family Up to the hills Where we’ll wait Thru the the winter’s chill When the snow comes falling down And the frost forms freezing the ground We stay inside, keeping warm by the fire and weather the storm Spring is here Sun’s shining down Melting the last of the snow From the ground Brings more problems with the thaw Washing our crops Into the river below Summer’s around the corner And it starts the cycle once again As I walk down the path, on the scorched, dry earth I pray to the heavens for rain Down the pathway From my door You can’t hear nothin’ For the water don’t flow Drought hit hard I fear It will Always be the same This time of year

Living in this Bordertown Nothing ever changes Same cars and same old faces passing by Not a lot to do round here Been no work for ages It’s hard to earn a living, but I try Living in a Bordertown Raised up in this Bordertown Dreaming of the city The glamour and the buildings in the sky The fancy bars and restaurants Just make me feel that I still want To go see for myself with my own eyes Get out this Bordertown Living in a Bordertown Living in a Bordertown Got here in the city a few weeks ago Arrived in time for the early snow Need to make my bed out in the cold Lying here in the damp streetlight Strangers look but pass me by As I fall asleep I know where my dreams go Take me back to Bordertown Living in a Bordertown Living in a Bordertown Living in this Bordertown Nothing ever changes Same cars and same old faces passing by Not a lot to do round here Been this way for ages It’s hard to earn a living, but I’ll try Living in a Bordertown Living in a Bordertown Living in a Bordertown Living in a Bordertown

I didn’t want to know I didn’t really care What She was doing when I wasn’t there I guess I was just as much to blame Leaving her alone Pretending everything would be the same Everything comes and goes Like the rain that melts the snow Love can be strong and weather the storm But like the snow it comes and goes I know - I treated her wrong Now in my arms she don’t belong I tried to hide what I was feeling inside And like a fool I made her cry Everything comes and goes Like the rain that melts the snow Love can be strong and weather the storm But like the snow it comes and goes All I’ve left’s this empty feeling Deep inside my broken heart I just don’t know - Where I have to go Can’t stand the pain when we’re apart Everything comes and goes Like the rain that melts the snow Love can be strong and weather the storm But like the snow it comes and goes Love can be strong and weather the storm But like the snow it comes and goes Love can be strong and weather the storm But like the snow it comes and goes
