A City I Don't Know

from Project 22 by Raymie Wilson

/

about

A story about arriving in a train station I'd never been to before, after getting off at the wrong stop! I had an idea of putting a horn section on it. First time on any of my solo stuff. I think it works.

lyrics

Stepping off a train
Onto a platform in the rain
Wonder where I’ve ended up this time

Could be lost again
This old station looks so strange
It’s got a roof, but it’s still raining

Well I got here
Wherever here is
I’m in a city
A city I don’t know

Always travelling round
Another stop another town
Seems to be the story of my life

Not been here before
Don’t recognise the slippy floor
Might look different in the daytime

Well I got here
Wherever here is
I’m in a city
A city I don’t know

Try to find the place
Where I can rest and wash my face
Get some sleep before tomorrow

Well I got here
Wherever here is
I’m in a city
A city I don’t know
